Why an Educational Consultant?

High School Counselors wear many hats and do not have dedicated time to focus solely on college admissions. I have over 25 years of educational experience spanning from elementary education to high school, special education and high school counseling, as well as college counseling in high school. I have Masters Degrees in Special Education and School Counseling and an EdS. in School Counseling. I also hold certifications in College Counseling from the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) as well as having earned my National Board Certification in Teaching (NBCT) in the area of School Counseling.

  • Choosing classes in high school

  • Choosing activities to enhance goals and interests

  • Registering for the ACT/SAT

  • Completion of college applications

  • Advising on 504 accommodations

  • Developing a testing plan (PSAT, Pre-ACT, ACT/SAT, ASVAB, Etc.)

  • Developing a post-secondary plan that aligns with goals and interests

Appointments are based on the needs of the client. This varies based on person, need, and grade level.

Full Appointment

When should we meet?

End of 8th Grade

One meeting where we can review 504 accommodations, class choices, extra-curricular involvement, and check out some interest inventories!

End of 9th Grade

One or Two meetings where we can review 504 accommodations, class choices, extra-curricular involvement, develop a testing plan, and discuss GPA impact!

End of 10th Grade

Two meetings where we can review 504 accommodations, class choices, test results, involvement, testing plan, and look at current GPA!

11th Grade

Meet throughout the year 2 to 3 times where we can review 504 accommodations, plan for various tests including the ACT/SAT,PSAT, ASVAB, develop a college application list based on needs and interest, plan college visits and look at current GPA for opportunities! 

12th Grade

Meet throughout the year 3 to 4 times where we can complete college and scholarship applications, complete the FAFSA/CSS profile, review acceptances to compare college offers, complete after acceptance requirements for college!
